Can you remodel my mother's ring?
Yes — this is some of our favourite work. We'll talk through what the piece means to you, what can be reused and what the options are, then design something you'll actually wear.
Will my jewellery be sent away?
Most repairs, resizing and remodelling are completed by our jewellers here in store. If a specialised job needs a different arrangement, we'll explain that before you leave it with us.
Can you resize my ring today?
Sometimes. Same-day service may be available by request, depending on the work involved and our jewellers' availability. Ask us and we'll tell you honestly.
Why has my white gold ring gone yellow?
White gold is usually rhodium plated, and that plating wears with everyday use. We can re-plate it and have it looking new again. How often depends on how much you wear it.
What's the difference between a natural and a laboratory-grown diamond?
They're chemically the same, but they differ in origin, rarity and price. We'll explain both properly and let you compare them side by side, without pushing you either way.
Do you buy old gold?
Yes. We're a licensed second-hand dealer and offer highly competitive prices for unwanted gold and jewellery. You can take cash, or a higher value towards a new or remodelled piece. Bring photo identification.
Can you repair jewellery I bought somewhere else?
Yes. You don't need to have bought it from us.
I don't know her ring size. What do I do?
That's most people. We'll help you work it out from what you do know, and explain what can be adjusted afterwards if it isn't quite right.
How much should I spend on an engagement ring?
As much as you're comfortable with — there's no rule, whatever you've read. Tell us your budget honestly and we'll show you what's achievable within it, including where a small change makes a visible difference.
My diamond feels loose. Is that serious?
Bring it in soon. A loose stone usually means a worn claw, which is a simple fix now and an expensive one once the stone is gone. We'll check it while you wait.
Can you make a wedding ring to fit around my engagement ring?
Yes. Our jewellers can shape a band to sit flush against your engagement ring, which matters if yours has a low or unusual setting.
Do I need an appointment?
No — you're welcome to walk in any time. If you'd like unhurried time with a diamond specialist, book ahead and we'll set it aside for you.
